Windows - To select large numbers of files (for deletion, copying, etc.), draw a box around them. To do this, hold down the left mouse button somewhere off to the side of the group of icons. While holding it down, drag your mouse, creating a "dashed-line" box. Surround any files you want to select. Easy!
Internet - Windows Update is the best Internet tool I know to plug security holes and fix bugs. From the Tools menu in IE, click Windows Update. It will lead you through the steps of automatically downloading any upgrades your system needs.
Word - Did someone send you a document typed in all "UPPER CASE?" Change it quickly by highlighting the objectionable text, and repeatedly hitting Shift-F3 until the correct case is shown.
Excel - Do you work with more than one workbook at a time. Use Ctrl-F6 to quickly jump between them!
QuickBooks- Write letters the easy way! Use the Write Letters Wizard in QuickBooks to quickly generate professional letters to customers, suppliers, employees or a customized list of recipients. Click the Company Menu and click on Write Letters and follow the steps in the Wizard to select the type of letter you want and who should receive it. QuickBooks automatically generates a letter in Microsoft Word to each recipient and allows you to customize the individual letters on the fly.
Trustworthy. Dependable. Reliable. Do those words describe you? Would others say that your word is good and that you do what you say you will do? The answer to each of those questions needs to be a resounding 'yes' for success to be in your future (and your present).
Most successful people place a premium on keeping their promises and commitments. If they say they'll do something whether 'important' or seemingly insignificant, they remember it? And they DO it.
They count on the fact that people can count on them. And they understand that statements like 'I was gonna', 'I meant to', and 'I haven't forgotten' all translate the same way: I JUST DIDN'T DO IT! Those are just excuses. They're close to meaningless.
With the exception of the few unethical jerks out there, all people really do intend to keep 'their word' and their promises. But good intentions alone won't take you very far. You get no 'points' for them. Points come only when you deliver.
So, don't make promises lightly; don't make ones you can't (or really don't intend) to keep. And when you do make commitments to your boss, to customers, or to coworkers, do whatever it takes to make good on them. Those people are expecting you to keep your word. Your reputation is at stake? your success is on the line.
