Word: The right mouse button displays a "context sensitive menu." The menu changes depending on where you right-click. Try it in a variety of places to discover some time-saving shortcuts!

Windows: Need to check your computer to see how fast your processor is or how much memory you have for those new computer games? Just right-click on your My Computer icon and select properties from the menu.

Excel: Need to add worksheets to your workbook quickly! Just press Shift+F11 and Excel will add a new worksheet to the left of the currently selected sheet.

Internet: Quickly bookmark any web page in all major browsers by pressing CTRL + D on your keyboard. Pressing these two keys together will open the bookmarks or favorites for your browser.

Bonus: When calling technical support or customer service it's often frustrating having to go through each of the voice prompts just to reach a human who can assist you. Go to http://gethuman.com. This site is a database of 500 of the top companies, their phone numbers and how to get directly to a human.

State of Appreciation

If asked, could you name the five wealthiest people in the world, or five people who have won the Nobel Prize, or the last five Academy Award winners for best actor and actress? The point is, none of us remember the headliners of yesterday. When the applause dies, the awards tarnish, and achievements are forgotten; no one cares about who won which award.

But if I asked you to list five teachers or mentors who believed in you and encouraged you, five friends who have helped you through a difficult time, five people who have taught you something worthwhile, or five people who have made you feel appreciated and special - that's much easier to do, isn't it?

That's because the people who make a difference in your life aren't the ones with the most credentials, the most money, or the most awards. They're the ones who care. If you want to be remembered for being important to someone else's life, make them feel appreciated.

Appreciation as a Secret of Success

When you are in a state of appreciation and gratitude, you are in a state of abundance. You are appreciating what you do instead of focusing on, and complaining about, what you don't have. Your focus is on what you have received... and you always get more of what you focus on. And because the law of attraction states that like attracts like, the more you are in a state of gratitude, the more you will attract things to be grateful for. It becomes an upward-spiraling process of ever-increasing abundance that just keeps getting better and better.

Think about it. The more grateful people are for the gifts we give them, the more inclined we are to give them more gifts. Their gratitude and appreciation reinforces our giving. The same principle holds true on a universal and spiritual level as it does on an interpersonal level.

The World Wide Web is a great place to do business these days. But if you have a small company with a small budget what do you do to get on the web? There are many sites today that offer Template-Based websites.

These companies will charge you a fee every month to host your site. This means they are storing your files on their computer and giving you a web address (the www.yourbusiness.com) that your customers will type in to see those files.

These sites are great for small businesses that want to get a start on the internet, but do not know where to start. To find these sites, go to www.WebHostingBlueuebook.com.

ETR offers an affiliate service called Website Wizard that provides complete web hosting, email, and ecommerce. And if you?re ready to tackle building your own site from scratch, we offer several training sessions for the top design programs, including HTML, Dreamweaver, and Expression Web.

So what are you waiting for? Let us help you make an electronic store front today.

Top Ten Signs That You Are an Internet Geek
  • When filling out your driver's license application you give your IP address
  • You no longer ask prospective dates what their sign is, instead your line is "Hi, what's your URL?"
  • Instead of calling you to dinner, your spouse sends email
  • You're amazed to find out spam is a food
  • You "ping" people to see if they're awake, "finger" them to find out how they are, and "AYT" them to make sure they're listening to you
  • You search the Net endlessly hoping to win every silly free T-shirt contest
  • You introduce your wife as "my lady@home.wife" and refer to your children as "client applications"
  • At social functions you introduce your husband as "my domain server"
  • After winning the office super bowl pool you blurt out,
  • "I feel so colon-right parentheses!"

..And the number one sign you are an Internet Geek:

  • Two Words: "Pizza's Here!"
